Are you familiar with the game of blackjack? If it is quite unfamiliar to you but you are interested, you should know the basic rules of blackjack. Blackjack is quite a simple game which is played by a dealer and one ore more players. The basic rules of blackjack is fairly simple. The dealer and the players are dealt with two cards each. Each players can choose to have additional cards. In order to win, a player should beat the dealer by having a higher value or scoring hand without exceeding 21. If a hand scores higher than 21, it is said to be a bust.

Blackjack hands are determined by their point total. The cards 2 to 10 are worth their face value. The face cards such as Queen, King, Jack are worth 10 points. An Ace is worth 11 or 1. If the player has an Ace but he will get a bust, he can opt to have the Ace equivalent to 1. A soft hand a case in which an Ace is counted as 11 points as it cannot be busted even if the player draws one more card. A Blackjack or a Natural are two card hand of 21. It can be an Ace and ten value card which is either a face card or 10. This becomes the winner automatically.  The player will lose if he has a bust even if the dealer has a bust as well. If both the of the player and the dealer have the same card value, it is referred to as push. Neither the dealer nor the player wins.

In the game of Blackjack, players play against the dealer only and not with each other.  Blackjack is an independent game with the dealer. The dealer may beat other players and lose to a player in the same round. A hole card is referred to as the only card that the dealer shows to the players.

Rules of blackjack  and its game play is summarized as follows. First, two cards are dealt to the player and the dealer. The player loses if the dealer has a Blackjack. The player wins automatically if he has a Blackjack. If the player and the dealer have a Blackjack, it is referred to as a push. If the player and the dealer do not have a blackjack, the player will have to play out his hand and the dealer will do the same after the players are finished. Playing a hand can be by hit (which means taking another card until it gets busted), stand ( which means not to take cards anymore), Double down (which means taking one more card and doubling the bet), and split a pair. Knowing the basic rules of blackjack can help you in developing your strategies to win the game.
